A Practice of Possibility

I have spent the past 30 years working with and alongside some of the world's leading choreographers, directors, and improvisational performers. They helped me to understand all I know about ballet, improvisation, and choreography.

I want to share these teachings with you and help you reach a fuller expression in your work.

Essentials

  • Noticing: The Material is Already There

Notice all you can. Notice what you see, feel, hear, and sense in your immediate environment. Feel where you are, where you were, and all associations that arise. This is your material.

  • Responding: Moving Your Awareness

Responding is moving. Movement is awareness. Move what you notice with curiosity, humility, and abandon. Play. Respond with daring moves or gentle gestures. Respond to what is there. Build, develop, destroy, rebuild, discover. Repeat. These accumulative actions are the dance of your awareness.
